The Redeemed University, Ede Campus is currently in a big mess. Feelers reaching CIVILIANNEWS affirmed that things are not working according to plan on the ivory tower. The school, owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is said to be enmeshed in several internal crises ranging from academic, administrative and general aspects.
Yet, a lot of people are in the dark as to the real reasons the school is going through this critical period. We can authoritatively tell you that the problems faced by the institution is caused by the rancour between the general overseer of the parent body of the school, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the traditional ruler of Ifewara over the location of the school. We were told that the monarch had instructed Pastor Adeboye against locating the school in Ede, a town that has no connection with the revered man of God, but due to the high connection of the vice chancellor of the school who hails from Ede, the vast acres of land were purchased for the school, but, pronto, nothing tangible was achieved thereafter.
We also have it on good authority that it is not only the monarch of Ifewara that is against the step taken by Pastor Adeboye towards the location of Redeemed University in Ede, but the entire citizens of the town are also against this move. However, Pastor Adeboye took a bold step by establishing a secondary school in Ifewara to appease his people but they refuse to accept the secondary school as a compensation all they want is the university. A visit to the Ede campus of the Redeemed University shows that things are not going on well and drastic steps need to be taken to bring succor to the campus.
